Psychological Services provided include, psychological counselling to understand the situation, needs and aspirations of a client. Need and options for: psychological therapy or psychotherapy to reduce or eliminate conditions such as anxiety, low confidence, disappointment, failure, grief, guilt, stress, tension, depression, obsessions, anger, hatred, etc. This will involve psychological training and guided self-treatment, followed by support and mentoring, if required. Combined, these services are aimed to better equip the client to survive and thrive “The Quickening” pace of life, challenges, complexities, conflict, dynamics, information overload and uncertainties with a view to improved health, happiness and performance.

“The Quickening”, that is the continually increasing pace of life, of change, challenge, competition, complexity, uncertainty, expectation, legislation, taxation, instant news feedback, fake news, conflict, crime, climate change, etc., and our need to cope with these. The Quickening, increases:

  1. Anxiety, doubt, low confidence, confusion, frustration, disappointment, failure, grief, guilt, stress, depression.
  2. Feelings of dis-ease, injustice, perceptions of unrealistic demands and unreasonable expectations, escapism, overwork, unsustainable span of control, burn out, etc.

Great and often competing, demands on one’s abilities, including, thinking, knowledge, insight and wisdom. Given that thinking is a process necessary for every human endeavour, society’s problem is that, generally, humans are not taught to think effectively and efficiently in formal education, but rather we learn to think incidentally and indirectly (inefficiently and ineffectively) in ad-hoc random ways as a result studying other subjects such as history and mathematics. If we learn to think first, we can then study and develop knowledge and wisdom more effectively. However, it is not too late to learn how to think more efficiently and effectively now.

Methods Employed in Psychological Sessions

The fundamental principal is that, for most people, their dreams and aspirations go unrealized, or only partially realized, because their abilities and potential are under: recognized, developed and applied. Consequently, people tend to gradually lower their original dreams to a level closer to their thinking. Whereas, the solution is the reverse, to raise the level of their thinking to achieve their dreams. The teaching methodology is relatively simple as outlined below:-

  • To educate clients as to the need and opportunity.
  • Clarify the mission.
  • Teach the means (the how).
  • Practice, hone and apply skills.

The how, entails editing the mind (the programme which each has developed to think). Usually, the old programme contains bad habits of some negativity, distraction, excuses, poor foci, poor concentration, procrastination, giving up instead of learning from failure, etc. Your programme (your MIND) is effectively the OS (operating system) of your brain (the muscle or CPU). Your mind can be edited to achieve extraordinary results. Exercising the brain will also create new neuro pathways in the brain itself.

Common Psychological Issues

Common psychological issues that arise from impaired ability to think effectively and cope better with “The Quickening” (Ref. Then, knowing the starting point and needs, and finish point, the means can be plotted. You are then guided to develop the means starting with a strategy. The details will evolve.
